Just did this on my 386 tonight. Had to bust the bushing out piece by piece. Recommend two people. Just slice the clear plastic with a razor as it works as a guide to help the spring stay straight and if you slice it you can wrap it back around to help maintain even afterwards. The bottom cover on the steering column will need shaved down as they will hit at full tilt but other than that very pleased.

I modified my first 386 steering column to give me a way better tilt and reach my spacing it away from the dashboard. I don't use air ride so I needed to modify it to get better control of the wheel at a more comfortable angle. I cut the plastic cover to clear the column. I just bought a 386 so I'll make a tutorial of how to do this. Heres a few pics of where I cut the plastic cover. Heres a pic to show how low the column went.

Not too familiar with the 387’s but do you have the foot pedal to tilt or a pull handle?

The pictures of the modified column of the 386 looks like it did drop it a bit. What all was done inside the column? I have cut out the white bushing and took the piece out completely that was cut to allow the column to drop without hitting the plastic cover. Still, mine doesn't drop as far as I would like it to. I also ride with no air in low ride bases for my seat, and I would like mine to #### near be straight vertical like in a car. Any ideas how to get more tilt without screwi g something up?

    Thanks in advance.

Is it the top cover (black) or bottom cover (grey) of column?
