Hi interesting thread, any of you know anything about KAG in West Sacramento? Was thinking of regional or OTR with them. Thanks in advance.

Is it fuel or oil? Most fuel local day cab type stuff. Oil is usually more likely to head out for overnights.

I just finished 3 weeks of training for fuel hauling at KAG, have my final road test tomorrow, and will be on my own after that.
One thing I noticed immediately is that they don't just give lip service to safety. The driver makes the final call! If it isn't safe, they won't try to force you to do it. All calls to dispatch are recorded, All of the people I've met, from drivers to the safety dept, to management, have all said, "slow down, think, make sure it's right before you do it". Some of our trailers are a bit older, but are well maintained.
Pay is good, should be better after first of the year when new contracts with customers are finalized.
As with any company, there will be those who badmouth them, usually they're just trying to shift blame from themselves. Talk to drivers working there now.

If the truck is out of sac town then your training should run out of there.

    Irishtrucker Thanks this.

I trained here in Erie PA. I just partnered with a current driver/trainer who showed me the ropes mostly how to do paperwork, load at the rack, and deliver.

Nah don’t worry about that. That’s what I make an hour in northern Cali hauling fuel. It’s not bad but slow right now

That's what i told the boss when i got out of fuel, the risk just isn't worth it anymore. Things are slowly turning around here in Southern California though. One major carrier started paying O.T. last year and another just gave a big raise to put their drivers at $27 with plenty of O.T.
