I'm a small carrier (2 trucks) looking to haul sand with a flatbed in west texas. I have no experience in the oilfield so I would like to start with my flatbeds hauling boxes before investing in blowers, hoses, and the other expensive equipment. I'm looking for advice on the brokers that others may be using for hauling sand or what companies are more likely to give a contract to a small outfit like mine. Thanks in advance

Hi crush
Horizon
I've even heard a guy checking in saying he was with great widefastforward1 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info. Are you familiar with any of these brokers? Are you out in west Texas?

Thanks for replying in a quick manor, can i ask you if these are companies that allow you to run under my own authority or will they require you to lease on to a certain carrier
-
If you mean Horizon in Midland they don't haul the sand on flatbeds. The supplier out of Houston that imports the sand (ceramic stuff) that is in bags in their yard on Fairgrounds rd hauls it themselves.

JHT is another flatbed company that hauls the hoppers

That I know of most of these companies will let u lease. On to them and u will run under there numbers. But if your looking to book your own loads with a broker. I'm not sure witch way to go on that.
I have a buddy wrking in the area. I an ask him ut he may not know of any brokerage companies. However it's a highly dangerous area to work in with so many hazards. And someone dies almost everyday in a wreck in the area -
Thanks im probably going tonhave to lease on with someone and fugure it out when i get out there.
