Have you ever seen a loaded livestock hauler out of serviced at a scale or port??? I never have, I have seen some empty ones but never a loaded one. I know for a fact that a lot of livestock haulers are let through weigh stations for stuff that most other trucks would be put out of service and not allowed to leave... How do I know because ive had it happen to me and know several other drivers that its happened to... 800 pounds over on my steers and over gross "watch your weight next time"... Brakes way out of adjustment... "Get that fixed as soon as you can, here is a ticket and fine"... Over your hos "where you going... That's 90 mins away, I better not see this truck through ANY port within the next 13 hours, get out of here"....

Why exactly they are let go I don't know but I'd bet dollars to nickles its because its livestock.

It isn't that simple. There are way too many variables with hauling livestock and things dont' always go smoothly.

I know guys that were overweight and the DOT made them wait for another truck to come so they could offload enough to get legal.

I'm sure it happens, I just haven't heard of it myself. I would be one pissed off SOB if I had to find another truck to come take 2 or 3 head off my trailer... When I was running bull racks I was lucky if there was one other guy that I could have called to do such a thing... Most the time I was the only truck even remotely available. I'd have had to call another company probably.

I have had to ride in to the gauntlet a few times against my will and better judgement to have to jump a few from trailer to trailer. There's an ol saying "get your poop in a group fore you cross that coop"

@Ristow I am sorry brother I did misunderstand. Second one of these today. Every one has a solution type deal. What I don't get is I don't care that they like the E-log. Why do they care if I like paper

no worries wore out,i figured you simply missed the sarcasm there a moment.

well you know...there's people like us...that if we don't like/want something we simply choose not to use it. and there's people like them..if they don't like/want something they don't want anyone to be allowed to have it....
