although i am not totally familiar with your destination, i can say that i have been in a few areas of the city with a sleeper and 53 foot trailer.

then a day cab and a 53 footer, so it can be done.

You don't want my advice lol. The last time I went down there it took 3 black n whites to get us out because we trusted the company we worked for.

Check that map. Get permits and an escort if you need 'em. And never go to NYC again. Lol.

 

I'm assuming you work for a local company...ask some of the guys you work with. When I go to that garbage city it's only to brooklynn or deer park...i hate one more than the other

We were in a 53'. After that fiasco of a load we went straight back to the company sat down with the COO and a bunch of other office types and pulled up the routing on that site and showed them that it was illegal to take a 53' anywhere near where we had to deliver. Called em on the carpet and embarrassed them pretty bad. They deserved it. I had to back 3 miles to get out of that situation, jump a curb within 9" of the storefront to turn around. Gods it was a mess.

I'm no newbie, either. But we considered ourselves lucky to get out of there with no property damage and no injuries to bystanders. NEVER trust their routing. Do your homework. That's why I listed the site.

And yeah, some loads require permits, some permits and escorts. The NYC cops were awesome.
