Why does somebody get blown away or burnt so bad you watch their lungs come out their nose? Ummmm maybe because you're on a battlefield, and that's what happens there.
Why does somebody getting sniped and paralyzed or have their feet blown off by IED? Ummmm maybe because you're in an enemy held territory, and you're doing you're job.
How does all this smell? Not like mom's kitchen that's for GD sure.
Why did we have to go this? Ummmm cause you signed up for it.

    That's it. There's no more.

Well I had a difficult time when I got discharged but managed to evidentially work through things. As it was said earlier things don't go away you just learn to live with it.
I get a kick outta the "hardcore" folks that think they worked thru it and boast about such but in reality it's still just under the surface and they use the tough guy attitude to suppress it

This is without a doubt, the most sheltered time in the history of the world. Death, disease, and natural forces have been isolated enough that most people haven’t got a clue what life has been like for....however many years the earth has existed.

Individuals have a way of trying to puff themselves up, in order to feel important. If you can’t have a reputation of being a guy that gets things done, I guess you can always create the identity of struggling with emotional demons.

    Shrug.

Everybody gets #### on. Period. Move on.
    Or
Stay and relive it. See where that takes you.

Do you really think that these megas and other companies actually for one second, that have all rapped themselves up in the veteran, wave the flag thing, give a good GD about anyone?

You have much growing to do.

I'm done. My PTSD is kicking in lmfao.

I know it doesn't just go away. But people can be counseled and taught how to deal with it and how to cope.. and even prescription if necessary. Everyone is different. You can't always just hand them a bible and send them on their way. It might work for some, but others might just walk out of the building and blow their heads off. Our military loses more men to suicide than we do to the enemy. And bibles are everywhere. Personally, I'd prefer to see us as a society look to modern medicine, instead of a 2000 year old book.

...and the meds the VA gives out like candy lol. I can agree that just a Bible is not the answer however it can be used as a foundation if one chooses. There is no one single answer how to treat PTSD but what did help me was dragging that ol 359 out the weeds and going to work on it.
It's something about an 855 Cummins, 6in straight stacks with a nice heavy load in the hopper bottom lol....just let her talk to ya

No, I made no such claim about megas in this thread for anywhere else. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. I don't know. You are imagining things. Maybe you need a psychiatrist to look at that.

Anyway, hope you have a happy thanksgiving.

I'm a combat Vietnam vet and have been dealing with it since the 70's. The Vet center and my combat vet group has helped a lot . I have people to talk to when times get tough.
The best thing for me was to get up every day and put my work boots on.now that I'm retired, I try to keep busy. 22 vets commit suicide every day, Wish it wasn't so
