Something to consider - Volvo motors are cheaper to replace (low mileage salvage) than rebuilding any other motors.

    SoDel Thanks this.

Some areas there are big blach holes on shops
Good shops are hard to find.
I got 3 volvo places that i use
1 that i trust (you can stay in the shop)
If you know your volvo you can time out your upcoming rep.
So i make it in 95% to a shop of me choise ...

And i make ontime the mistake to buy a volvo with a f.... commings.... never again ... lost 30k in 2 years

Number 1 reason ill never own a Volvo again ..horrible dealer service !
Number 2 crazy parts prices .
Number 3 lousy resale value .
Number4 Volvo will do anything to get out of warranty work ..
Great trucks when they run right but the dealer end will make you pull your hair out ..never again ...thank you Volvo Omaha !

    Snailexpress and csmith1281 Thank this.

Sorry you Haden that experience. I have never had that problem getting warranty work done. As for priced I've had several trucks and all the dealer priced were outrageous

    morning
to 1. correct its hard to find a good dealer

to 2 BS parts for this north American LEGO-Trucks are not cheaper if you see it on the livetime

to 3 thats good for people like me
i never will buy any new Truck because they call it warranty i call it time to fix problems who idiots in a factory made because they get lazzy to do every day the same job.
a new 780 is 180ooo cnd ... after 4 years its 50 to 60 so the first owner loos every year 30000 cnd on it
the most rep. are on warrenty .... ok i spent in 18 month now ca 17ooo ink tires oil change etc. compare to 22.500 + oil tires etc...
so who is now on the nicer side

to 4 thats what i say at 1.

if you know the real volvos not them what some idiots call a volvo ( a volvo frame with a junk Cummings and fuller) you get less probs
a north American truck are some LEGO blocks
    a red for the engine
    a gray for the tranny
a black for the drive train
a tin layer in yellow for the electric
then you pull over all a blanket and put Pet kenny intershit or fightshaker on it
NOTHING of the parts are realy made to work together

    a volvo with a d13/d16 and i-shift s made to do this.
next major big + for a volvo is the savety ... normal your live insurance must give you a 80% discount if you drive one
not 1 NA truck will survive this test ...

    so have fun ..

    SoDel and csmith1281 Thank this.

    <--sold my 2008/ 780, with 1,830,000 miles on original D13, original Eaton Fuller 13 manual. Purchased a used 2010 same specs,lower miles D13/Eaton 13 manual; i doubt you'll see an i-shift going over a million miles.
imo Eaton Fuller 13 manual is the best transmission ever made.

I own 2 trucks now a 05 Volvo daycab with D12 and a 2011 Volvo VNL with Cummins ISX with eaton 13 speed. Debating real hard on trading the ISX in on a D13 with Ishift. I just think the parts are cheaper on the Volvo engine but that is my opinion.

I agree though that Volvo has the worst of the worst for dealer service.

This is what I was told (take it with a grain of salt)

Volvos DO NOT break down as much as the others...but when they do!....get ready to give it up.

It's always a game of pay as you go, or pay when you pull up <----- pick one

    Johny41 and csmith1281 Thank this.
