It's really funny/sad, when I run in Canada, it's sometimes hard to find a toilet when you need it, so you do what you have to. But when I went to the US, I never had a problem finding either a toilet, shower, garbage can, etc. You literally trip over places to stop on the interstate.
You can go 2.5-3 hours in Northern Ontario between safe places to STOP, let alone use the facilities.
He's in the Wal-Mart parking lot ffs, walk into the store and use the can.
When to say when?

Algebra emerged at the end of the 16th century in Europe, with the work of François Viète.
The 1500;s - in EUROPE; sorry. -

You must be thinking of Rene Descartes contributions when he discovered you can plot algebraic equations on a line using a grid. In that case you are right. It was a groundbreaking for its time. But we know ancient Babylon’s were using it, the Greeks, and in India even before that. Not to the degree we understand it today, but they had it.

You are speaking of linear /quadratic problems. Yes, That goes back 4000 yrs. in Babylon.
Symbolic Algebra like we use today was European.
