I don't have the same experience running brokered freight as you guys, only a couple months, so maybe I should keep my gob shut. ?
I know many of the things to be wary of by reading how the guys on here generally deal with things, so I had the benefit of your experience.
Because of you guys I had the gumption to call an agent back when the rate con said to stage my trailer a day ahead. Of course, none of this was mentioned in our phone call. Told them what we would need additional to hold my team trailer for a day in 4th quarter. They wouldn't meet it. I wouldn't budge. We wound up with a better load inside of an hour. No skin off my nose.
Thanks, gents!
Lying brokers, how do you handle them?

That's a new one to me. "Stage your equipment a day early." How about just ask me (after we agree on a load) where I will be empty/what my plans are to accomplish what we agreed upon? I'll tell you my plan. Probably just trying to ensure the carrier isn't doing something like plan to deliver to a place where there are often long unload times and then try to race over to your shipper before they go home. I understand that too. Pretty much the reason why when I am bouncing from on to pa/va/nj/oh/mi/etc. and back I just take the rest of the day off after I get empty. Now that I think about it makes me sound like a bit of a slack ###. Oh well it's how I like to roll.
Ruthless and miss elvee Thank this. -
