Congratulations to you both. Sorry couldn't post earlier. Since I got new partner, have been very busy, taking one load after another (4 so far) and all constant security loads. :biggrin_25510: Oh, I detest those... You have to call before receiving the load assignment and agree with all their rules, blah, blah, blah.... But at least we are running, not sitting and waiting. :biggrin_25519:

Congrats that Redcoat is home. I admit to being jealous! My husband was supposed to be in Chat, Tn last weekend for an overnight, I was going up to see him. They didn't route him through Chat...so I didn't see him.

He was then to come back in for a day or so over this holiday weekend...NOPE....he and his team driver will spend the holiday at a truck stop. Supposedly they'll be in for Christmas, I have my doubts.

They have now been out 4 weeks, if they are to get Christmas off, it will be another 3 - 4 before they get in. I fear if they come in any earlier, they'll get screwed out of Christmas.

Christian, Bible based, family oriented...whatever...they can choke on it! :biggrin_25516:

sorry to hear that, they are money oriented..thats all. i just got into chatt, had to go empty from louisville because they claim there is no freight.....so i'll sit here in chatt for 1 week off, the yard had alot of empty trucks, possible indication of drivers that had enough of sitting. i know the economy is bad and that it will be bleak for a while, but they are happy to have you babysit the truck and sit in truckstops rather than be truthfull, this way they are out there and seen......."wow they must have freight"!
    NOT...:biggrin_25510:
they are Hypocrites to the max, a warm terminal in the winter and a chilly one in the summer, but they tell you to freeze and boil so that they can save money on your hide....and not pass anything onto the driver for complying....
if i had one wish it would be to see the ground open up and swallow that den of liars
    whole:biggrin_25510:
best wishes to the dedicated drivers here that put up with so much crappola,.

Well, just talked to hubby. He is in CA. Hopefully will have a load to MS in the coming hours. Not that it matters, I still won't see him for Thanksgiving.

He and his team driver have decided to stay out until Christmas week, so that they don't get screwed out of that. Which means that he will have been gone for 8 weeks.

I have to wonder about the Happy Employees posted on the website and in the newsletters. Who are they and where do they run? Certainly not with the average driver!

Does anyone know if they get holiday pay if they are on the road over Thanksgiving? I doubt it...just checking.

Hubby now has his hazmat, and in Feb will have a year. He will start looking for something regional/local soon.

I am grateful that he is employed and getting a paycheck. I know it is hard to find a job right now. So I hate to complain....maybe it's thought of spending 4 days with my family at my mothers home over the next few days...LOL...

well it's familly first and always should be, it's hard to coordinate that in this biz, but covenant is not busy and they should get him home to be with you and the familly at times like this.
me, i'm stuck here in the hotel with my girl and our dog....could be worse..
i hope you do enjoy your turkey day....next year will always be better:biggrin_25525:
    best wishes mcr&deb.
