You should do very well. One of the biggest problems with new drivers is laziness and lack of determination and discipline. I believe that is why so many trucking companies like to hire ex military folk.

To get the job I have? I had to go by the temp service x 5 days x 4 weeks.

They didn't want to hire me, because I was over qualified, over educated, over experienced..

    ###### that! I need a JOB!

I can do statistics, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, qualified analysis, yada.`~ yada

Trucking companies don't care much about education one way or another. There are guys out here with GED's to master's degrees GOOD.drivers are not real easy to find. The last I heard, over 90 %of new drivers are out of the industry within the first year.

I have math skills as well. The problem is computers do math so well we humans almost don't need to worry about it, unless we are doing research or engineering.

You know you have trouble when you new "big truckin buddy" tells you, "I got fired from my last job because my room mate died. They never proved I did it."

This is why I'm antisocial with most other drivers and avoid truck stops and such. I'll admit it some of these weirdos out here really get under my skin to the point I would purposely shat my own pants to avoid talking to them. Good luck

I have to go to truck stops for my 10 if at all possible. My b1cth switch is on if I don't start my day with a shower. I do not hang out in the lounge at all. 99 percent of the time I hang out in the truck to avoid hearing stupid $h1t I don't wanna hear.

Ya I hear you! luckily I'm only away from one of our DC a day at most, all have clean showers, and nice shop personnel even come out and pump fuel for me. I've only fueled at a Truck stop 3 times in past couple years
