Pro:
One can get a Blue truck after 3 million miles. But in the future it won't be a solo trk anymore. You will still slip seat. -
Soon you guys can earn Diamond Driver status.drvrtech77 and Puppuller 57 Thank this. -
I have two thoughts on the 3 million trucks. I get those guys earned those rides. And the accomplishment deserves a massive reward.
But looking at a 6 year old truck with 90,000 miles sitting there, not moving when you have freight to move and drivers without trucks is insane.
There was a guy gonna hit 4 million turned down the truck. He knew his retirement was coming and thought it would be a waste of money knowing he was going part time for a year and then full retirement. I remember the article in the wallyworld magazine.
It is not just the 3 million trucks either. Any of the award trucks can be used as a last resort if needed. If Hylan, MIke, Rickey, or Gary are not running and they need the truck theirs are up as well. -

Con:
Some of the WMT Drivers are complete snakes. And it would be a complement to call em back stabbers. Because they will stab you in the chest before you can even make an 1/8th of a turn.
Some of the senior drivers don't like new comers. Some drivers will snitch out ppl with a second cell phone. It's not all drivers that's this way. But it's like some would rather have their brother in law or high school buddy working with them. Rather than a new driver off the streets as they say.
If one gets the job it would be best to mind your business and stay out of other drivers face. Screw all that family talk that WM likes to talk abt. There are ppl that would love to see others never come thru the gate again.joshuapowell61, Triumph 1, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
They can only allow certain number of drivers off because of statistics.
For example me getting this last Sunday off after a year pounding full weeks was an uphill battle because of projections and blaa blaa blaa.
Sunday’s have been pretty dead despite peak season and it was annoying to have to constantly check the book then finall call into the GTM to get the day.
Meanwhile Saturday was granted without issue.
Like I’m going to finish up Friday, drive home and come back in sunday.
Eye roll.
Also the annual PTO scheduling is great is you know what you want 9 months from now...
Granting PTO could use a tweak...06driver Thanks this. -
Let’s not forget the law of unintended consequences with Walmart’s cell phone policy, and the driver that got fired for “texting while driving” even though he pulled over to send it.
drvrtech77 and Coover Thank this. -
If he did a manual eLog change to On Duty I would imagine there’d be no problem.
I’m sure that was the result of a log audit or something.
And what does that have to do with unintended consequences? -
As I read the story, he was in a bad area, so the text message he pulled over to send actually went through when he got to a better area. Problem is he was logged as driving at the time.
drvrtech77 and Triumph 1 Thank this.
