I know very little about trucking, I dont understand "log 300 hours on line 3." What does line 3 mean? So would Werner be a good place to start a trucking career? Thanks for your patience with me guys!!
-
Well, you couldn't log 300 hours on line 3 at one shot without getting in serious trouble! Line 3 is where you log your actual driving time. The lines in a log book go as follows:
Line 1. Off Duty
Line 2. Sleeper Berth
Line 3. Driving
Line 4. On Duty (not driving)
Werner would be an OK place to start a driving career. You may even find that the company fits you and your needs to the point where you would end up staying there for years. You may find a different company to start with. My hubby started with Werner. He left them after three months. The guy that was his trainer (a very good one) has been with Werner for years, and still is. -
1. Off Duty - Not in cab
2. Off Duty - Sleeper BerthLilbit Thanks this. -
Thanks for that! I'm a bit rusty, as it has been 8 years since I filled one of those out!

They don't have very many of those left. They are going to mostly Freightliners and 387 Peterbilts. they just bought a bunch of Freightliner Cascadias, that's what I'm driving right now while I'm in training.

If being at HOME is important why are you looking at OTR trucking ?
-

I thought they were required to work with the reserve weekends and such. I could be wrong.
