As I said in my intro, I just got my Class A after 4 months on the job training and 6 months Class B OTR-8,000 miles. If I applied to companies like USA Truck, PAM, etc I'm assuming I'd be sent with a trainer and not to a school. Thanks for any replies.

Maybe, maybe not. I believe that you will be required to submit some sort of certificate from a school before any of the big outfits will hire you. I have known a few guys that had OJT, but had no school cert. They had to go to school and get a certificate of course completion. One guy only had to do a week, but it still cost him a grand.

The problem is, will the insurance company let them hire you. 6 months and only 8000 miles, Don't look like enough for them. there were Companies who wanted to hire me, but in order to keep cost down , they had to hire only experienced drivers. so I drove a crap job for 1 year, only got 80000 miles, but it was enough to get me hired on where I am at

The 8,000 was running Household Goods. Packing and loading. Chewed up a ton of time. If it had been straight mileage, it would have been a lot more.
