Drive time versus rest time isn't up to each individual company, it is DOT rules. You can drive up to 11 hours and work up to 14 hours total. You then have to have 10 hours off until you can drive again/work again. So I would think you would have some time to study. Some days might be longer/harder than others and you have to figure in showers/meals etc into that time as well.

As far as WiFi, its hit or miss at truck stops, plus you might not always be resting at a truck stop, sometimes you'll be at a rest area or consignee taking your 10 hour break. Your best bet would be to get a air card or tether for your lap top. Verizon has the best coverage.

Firnatine slight correction to tge 14 hour rule. You can WORK after your 14, you just cant DRIVE after your 14.

Ok... so I have heard the exhortation from many different people to "Stay off the grass!"

Am I to assume that TMC makes it clear that they have many different rules including (keep off the grass) and if you break even the least of these that you just bought yourself a ticket home?

no one ever told me to stay off grass and and its posted nowhere, its just everyone says it so no one goes on it. they are to scared. but if you did walk on it and was asked not to do it again you best bet they are watching and waiting for you to do it again.

It's essentially a discipline thing. If you can't follow simple instructions, who's to say you're capable of driving a truck from point a to point b safely. In DSM, hmm.... it is what it is....
