Volvo D13 model 2017/2018

    I been dealing with Volvo management against a defective unit purchased in year 2017. The unit is consuming oil. With average 20,000.00-25,000 miles, the oil needs to be tapped full. Pursuing Volvo but so far management refused to accept as defective unit. After a detailed trouble shooting, volvo is still unable to recognize the fault. Will not recommend to buy Volvo.

    Oil is at zero dip in 20000-25000 miles.

    Yes. And still Volvo is adamant that unit is not defective. A brand new latest model unit consuming complete engine oil in 20,000.00 miles.

    Have it documented and write them a nice letter threatening them with a lemon law lawsuit.

    That should wake them up.

    They might say that 1 gallon of oil every 25k is acceptable. That's why they are saying there is no defect. I know it sounds crazy but I dont have first had knowledge of a manufacturer claiming that it is acceptable.

    How many miles on the truck?

    Get an oil sample from the motor to see if you have anything reading abnormal. If it's normal you might need to pay to have the head pulled and inspect the pistons. If your burning oil that bad it is probably getting around the rings. It also wouldn't hurt to do a compression test on the motor. If all this checks out, there isn't much you can do. If one of those three tests come back as showing a problem they'll have to fix it. Oil sample, compression test, and last resort, an inspection with the cover off. If it's as bad as you say, im pretty sure it will fail a compression test.
