    No, rates are low because companies (and I lump o/o's in here too) are willing to haul for that rate. If they would reject that rate then the price would go up.

    It's called the free market. These shippers and brokers out here are not running a charity. They abivious feel like they are getting adequate service otherwise they would increase their rates.

    I don't understand why people complain about rates. You're in an industry were a carriers value to its customer is almost always price. It's up to you as a business to be able to demonstrate your value that carries with it a higher rate.

    People should be mad at ati-competition bills like the e-log mandate not o/o running cheap freight.

    It costs at least $1.50 per mile to run a truck,I wouldn't be pulling any loads unless they were paying $2 and up per mile...these guys pulling loads for $1 are losing money big time.:director:

    On a side note I haul some brokered frieght for xpo and normally pays ok. But I have notice there credit score on DAT has dropped to a 85 and 41 days to pay. I wont be hauling for them till it comes up. Anyone know why? Thats signs of problems

    It could be anything but something similar happened to Western Express last year. Their credit and days to pay got really bad and lots of people stopped using them. One of their brokers told me Amazon was the reason. They did eventually dig out of it.
