I know a guy in Florida that did 20 years for murder and as soon as he was released from prison he attended cdl school. Went right to work at graduation. The company knew about the prison time. If he had said he smoked pot in prison, they wouldn't have hired him.

 

Don't say you smoked pot.

I don't know about the whole year thing. But I've never worked for swift so i don't know their procedures.

As for your criminal history. If you were arrested it'll be on your record. Go to your local background checks office and see if you can apply for expungment. In utah they send you a letter saying what can be expunged and the timeframe that has to expire before eligibility.

It's a simple procedure around here. No lawyer or court appearence needed. But a judge signature is required. The clerk goes in to the court or his room if he's on break or whatever. And has judge sign off.

Just make sure you keep it behind you because you will be randomly drug tested.
