Could you say what region that is?

I remember somewhere rural passing a "UPS terminal" that consisted of 6 package cars backed up to a small cinderblock archway. Didn't even have doors, they just cross docked everything and locked up the trucks at night. (I guess that's all they needed there).

In NYC, it's not unusual to have 2-3 package cars on the same block. They go into a 20+ story building with convertible handtrucks and work the entire building floor by floor.

I've talked to Oops guys in the elevator and they tell me sometimes an office will UPS a package to an office on a different floor in the same building! or right across the street.

    Hmmm, interesting.

I assumed it was more of a podunk hub somewhere.

We got subcontracted to pull Oops trailers from Newark NJ to Raleigh NC one year before Christmas. They always wanted me to wait until they were sure, but the northbounds were always empty. Got paid both ways though.

You don't whip humans into that kind of productivity. It will only break em. Again this is not war.--per X1Heavy.

Break'em. Heck, kill'em if possible. There are a thousand more lined up for that seat.

People are expensive. Profits are far more important. After all, how is the poor, poor CEO gonna afford his next vacation home?

    NavigatorWife and x1Heavy Thank this.

It would behove MBA classes to teach a lesson or two about 18th century France.

To wit: when the starving people begin to outnumber the people on your payroll, you find people start to care very little of YOUR well being.

I hear you, I must not have phrased the wording correctly in my post that contains the whipped humans in the workforce. I'll toss that. There is a old sign that hung in one of my workplaces long ago... "Beatings continue until morale improves"

I will agree with you on the excessive riches alloted to a CEO of a company big enough to take care of it's workers and hire that 1000 more for holiday time in lieu of a palatal vacationhome.
