How far does this slingbox work?

Can you take your laptop on the truck with you and it still work even if your 500miles from home?

It works through the internet. So, if you have internet access, you have the ability.

    Les2 Thanks this.

started w/usb air card 881- it loses connectioin and stopped getting 3g- called and told them send me something that works or ill pay out of contract on all my phones and go elsewhere- they sent me a 'laptop connect card gt ultra express' it would be fine except that its designed to function in a narrow express card slot, i have a wide- to narrow.....everytime you bump it, bye-bye internet......
Their service and price are fine by me .......their aircards are worthless....these are the only two i've tried....they may have something better out now.

I broke my contract in less than a year because of the lack of service, connection and etc.

I did not pay any contract fee or whatever. It stopped immediately. Advised them I had considered contacting an attorney because of the poor service and etc.

    I now use verizon.

i haven't had any reception problems worth mentioning and after the merge between atand t and cingular i doubt anyone has access to as many towers....which i dont necessarilly like the idea of a monopoly...but im just giving my personal experience with them, im certainly not argueing that they havent worked for others....also the one connection problem i have gotten frustrated with them is dropping calls from 3g to regular or between towers. i do have nationwide so roaming is not a problem.

    Mine was nationwide, no roaming.

I was in McCammon, ID had phone service with ATT, but the internet would not hook up because of roaming. They said I needed to be in Pocatello to use it.

Next time problem was at Evanston WY. It would sign on, you would get to this site and start to reply and it would bounce you off. It seemed to bounce off after 2 or 3 minutes. Called them and they said I was in a partner area and they controlled the internet. Got rid of it when I got home.
