    On the back of the radio where the coax screws in, should say Taiwan or Phillipines and the year of manufacture. What does it say?

    Looking at your picture, it is a very clean looking radio. The trim looks great. Those may be the original knobs. It's not beat up at all. The radio is 34 years old, and could easily have 2 to 2.5 million miles on it. And still works!

    10/4 I’m hopeing To get a new 29lx for Christmas to put in my truck for daily use and then get this one fixed up and keep it put up for when I need that extra power that this thing puts out when it works right.

    Extra power? Has it had a final upgrade? Should have 4watts Am and 12 watts ssb if that is what you are referring to.

    It’s been modded, not sure how or what’s been done to it was a buddy of mine grandpas radio who moded them and upped the final on a few,

    I would unmod it and have it reset to factory specs, just my opinion, nice radio though.
