I'm otr I don't need hourly. % or miles is the best way to seperate the lazy slobs from the hustlers.

We give up our rights being that we haul interstate commerce, the commerce is more important according to the laws around commerce.

Question : how long does it take to get a snowflake driven truck coast to coast , if you pay them hourly ?
Answer: does that include personal days , vacation days and sick days ?
Real answer is the freight won't get there before Christmas

Oxbow, Joetro and Oldironfan Thank this.

I will repeat that we need to return back to the hos that worked.

But we are our own enemy, this thread provides the proof.

It was not just the Megas that caused all of this bs, the cowboys among us have been a source of problems with enforcement, no way around that, however what the megas count on is people screaming at each other about issues like this so not to have the drivers and owners be the one that opposes their ideas and wants.

An argument for changing the HOS rules would be a rational argument. I am fine with the rules as they are, except I would like at least a little flexibility. Maybe a once a week extension of the 14. I have just adapted to E logs and the HOS rules I ran pre 2004 on paper. I am much better rested now.

I thought the Constitution only applies in the District of Columbia.

Just asking. It gives me an idea where you are coming from with this uber support of a flawed mandate.
And I never said I didn't play with my logs. In fact, if you go back and look, I admitted maybe having done so and gave the reasons why I might.
Look, for years any have fudged a little here and there and, as long as it wasn't blatant, the DOT wouldn't jack us up too much. They knew it happened and we knew they knew. Of course, it seems there was a little more common sense in enforcement back then, just like there was a lot more common sense in the trucking industry.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
