And to think Im missing a back window, taking a cough drop because the weed burner exhaust fell off, the heat does not work, half the lights are bridged at the fuse box with a fat wire or two and the steering is a little bit off with one steer has a toe out among other problems. A 5th wheel with a loose slack of almost a foot and a little lean to the tractor suspension because three hangers are gone. Never mind the tire that is low and some of the spokes without a bolt.

And a engine that sounded like someone tossed a sears tool box and all into the crankshaft. And Im expected to go virginia in this rig and over weight 40 foot box? Ha. Those were the days.

Not anymore. I shop a truck even if a 25 cent toggle switch is broken. I don't care for the aggravation from the stressed out manager yelling, get the boys on it quick. Or you hear from dispatcher why I am now late...

Sometimes I think that inspections are useful for keeping really bad companies in line when you show up with really bad equiptment. Unfortunately the way things are, you the driver are responisble for that crappy truck being escaped from the company shop at all. When DOT doubles over laughing while holding that PTI slip you signed earlier that morning... you know something is not right.

    Wrong.

They're posted on YOUR inspection under the company name on the csa websight.

So I went thru a dot inspection and the only violation were against the truck and trailer and based on the cop unless the line where it says unit has a D under it goes to the company not the driver is that correct?

I believe points go to both. Tear it up, quit worrying about it and roll on.

Should've told the company to kick rocks after a pre-trip discovered those violations. Saved yourself some CSA points and trouble further down the road with any hiring. Got to start teaching these new drivers that it isn't the end of the world if you get fired for refusing to put yourself into safety jeopardy.
