Hmm, hadn’t heard that about Remington. I got my 870 in 1995. I carried a Mossberg at work that was issued, it was nice. The problem I always had with the Mossberg was how much movement there was in the pump side to side. However it always worked, it had a nice subtle effect at the clubs at 2 am. Just sit there with it propped on your shoulder, and club traffic practically directed itself right on out of the parking lot. Not a bit of loitering .
Guns??? Concealed carry?

Do you keep a shotgun in your truck?Last edited: Dec 9, 2017

I'm blessed that I have enough property and a great area for my own shooting range for any weapon including rifles including a 50 cal. I also have a friend who is a retired Army Colonel and armorer who advises me on all things to do with weapons. For years I carried a riot pump shotgun and I promise you that will check people up when it's laying on the dash of your truck when you roll in to a bad area. Besides I was told that the "bad guys" thought I was crazy anyway because I'm small blonde, female and rolling into their turf. They don't do crazy women. I think it's funny. All kidding aside. Situational awareness has always kept me safe. I "own" where ever I go. Show no fear never let them see you sweat.TaterWagon#62 and captjimmy Thank this.

We we're taught double tap into center mass, assess, repeat if necessary until the threat is neutralized. Head shots are preferable but more difficult to attain which is why center mass is or was taught. In a shoot/don't shoot situation there are many variables which can change in a second. What's behind the subject is only one and very important as any miss or thru shots can hit unintended targets. As to edged weapons we were taught a minimum of 21 feet is necessary to assess, and react with your sidearm if the person decided to attack.

Not right now I don't.

I was actually surprised, the only reason I found out that info, in regards to quality was due to my investigation into why the stock was down. I guess they have even had to recall a few of their pieces.

I had a photo of a law before. But not now. I just keep my 12 ga with me. In a locked case. And ammo must be in a seperate part of truck. But this was not concealed. And if asked at a military base or prison you must declare your fire arm.
captjimmy Thanks this. -
Good deal. A shotgun would be much better anyways in a truck.

Some very good advice. I love the Remington 870. Haven't heard of the express tac. I assume obviously it's a tactical version what's the express part? Or is it the police short barrel version? Or I guess my lazy ### can Google it.

I carry a cheap 9mm. That way, if I have to go to one of those places, I just throw it out the window at a school playground before I get there.
It's a win-win... I don't go to prison and the kids get a cool toy to play with at recess.dngrous_dime and captjimmy Thank this.
