Ok..here ya'll go... Black Beauty has a Cummins 565hp,18spd,.336 rears,274" wheelbase( truck was 324" wheelbase when we got it, cut 51" off the rear of the frame and rolled the rears up to the next set of holes in the frame, re sized the drive shafts) it has 7" monster pipes( with hidden mufflers under the truck), 20" boxed Texas bumper, all of the chrome is panelite, installed by West Texas Peterbilt in Lubbock..I need to get pics of the interior, it has heated leather seats, Sirius satellite radio with 10 speakers and an amp w/sub woofer, it has custom iron cross foot pedals( the fuel and brake have iron crosses cut into them, the clutch is cut in the shape of an Iron cross) iron crosses embroidered into the sleeper curtains, closet curtains and the cover for the rear window. It gets 6.1mpg on the open road, 4.6 in town, this may sound dumb, but I dont know what a"DPF" is...lol...it does have a computer/gps unit in the dash..tattle tail!!! 70mph in the big hole I'm turning 1340rpm, I've had it up to 106mph once, right after we got it, just to see what it would do, it wasn't topped out, I just got nervous and backed out of it, I almost never run more than 2 or 3 miles over the speed limit, it also has center force wheel balancers on the front wheels, and a raised 5th wheel( 7" above stock), all riding on tall rubber. The boat anchor I'm pulling is a 01 landoll 950( I call it a boat anchor because it weighs 22,000lbs) I'd MUCH rather pull a lowboy, but haven't quite got the boss talked into it yet

No TMC for me...it's just black like their trucks, just faster and better...lol! It's a retired Bull Hauler's truck

Yep...it gets babied allright, I take good care of my truck, take pride in it. Even though I don't own it, I always think one thing above all else" this truck supports me" there are several" hands " where I work that are constantly tearing stuff up, drive their truck floor boarded all the time, don't take the extra time to maintain the equipment on their trucks, don't keep them clean...Inside or out.... I keep my truck up, wash it at least once a week( black trucks are a total B***H to get/keep clean( we have a steam cleaner at the shop, I hand wash it) the worst part is I always seem to have to wash it twice...any little spot you miss shows..but on the flipside, thats the reason the boss invested the money in a nice ride for me, and it's also the reason that no-one drives it but me, in a company that truck swapping happens frequently...so if your new to trucking, remember...your truck is your lively hood, and it makes a HUGE impression on the public and customers how it looks...if it looks bad, you look bad.
The Challenger, AgLaw and Coonass Thank this. -
I'd love to shoot it some time.... I run out and back to Houston, either to JFK or LAX. I'll PM you my number if you would be at all interested.

Thank you, thank you! ...this is so true. Too bad the majority of the drivers out there (at least the ones I've had the pleasure of working with) can never fully understand this simple concept. I used to always take the oldest junker, fix it up and run it for a while...only to start the process over and over--fixing what another driver messed up. Now, I've upgraded much like you. I still repair other's messes, but I have my one truck that only I drive. If those certain drivers would realize the effects of self pride and positive K.A.S.H. (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, & Habits), they would make lots of CASH ($$$$); and in the process, help to change the 'face' of the industry. I'll now step off of my soap box!
BTW, thanks for the specs. It's always interesting to see other trucks and their operating "parameters". However, I never knew those Landolls tared so heavy! Glad I now know.
