Crete runs through my area all the time ,walmart dedicated stuff. I have noticed all the drivers act and look like pros. good image for the industry. The trucks look clean and taken care of. I don`t see very many 00 s anymore.

That's another fine quality about Crete. They actually send their student drivers out in the world to learn how to drive a truck correctly and safely. They do not allow us to run as a team. You are not looked at as a second seat driver to supply cheap labor. It is actually quite expensive to have a trainee on the truck. They pay a trainee $500 a week plus what they pay the trainer and due to the additional maneuver training and the slower pace of moving freight that is associated with training someone new to the industry, these trucks will often run fewer miles than a solo truck. Crete requires trainees to do the vast majority of the driving and the trainer is expected to be in the passenger seat and "Train" as opposed to many companies that expect their trainees to run as a team.

Crete trainers are there because they want to teach you, not because they are trying to make big money. Trainers are paid a nominal weekly fee for their service and you can be confident that you will have a quality mentor while on their truck.

Good Luck with your training and drive safe.

Met a Crete driver last week in the northeast right after I noticed my fender mirror broken and sticking out. at an odd angle.I asked him did he know he hit my truck,he tells me he didn`t and would have told me if he did, that it must have been the OTHER Crete driver that hit my truck.Had to walk off after that(laughing to self)-only real damage was a spot mirror which was broken a few hours earlier by a pebble thrown by my steer tire.No harm no foul.Had to laugh,"the OTHER crete driver."lol

Ummm, this makes no sense. Did the "only real damage was a spot mirror which was broken a few hours earlier by a pebble thrown by my steer tire" cause the damage and you were trying to blame someone else?

And, if there was damage to your fender mirror, wouldn't there also be damage to the fender itself?

Could you be more explicit in your details? Or are you just trying to cause hate and discontent?

Details?I was actually shocked that it didn`t get into my fender but whatever part caught the mirror just enough to spin the 90 degree arm around without bending it.So there was no real damage, however ,"someone" did hit my truck, and there were tire tracks in the slush(along with mirror pieces).I wasn`t mad because I noticed no damage to my fender, merely wanted to point out to the young man that he had hit my truck, even if he didn`t know it.Had there of been more damage we would have had a serious problem, which brings out a part of me that I prefer to keep hidden.I have nevertried to get someone else to pay for anything or screw someone over(as I was raised different). If there had been more damage someone would have paid for that.I would have made sure everyone involved knew the mirror was already broken because thats the way I am.Had to laugh because it reminded me of my kids who would try to blame anybody to save their butt, knowing full well they were busted. This driver may not have noticed that he did this but i showed him the tracksand the mirror pieces and there were no other trucks backed in front of the shop door next to me nor had there been in the short time I was inside.I noticed this thread discussion about "crete" and put in my 2 cents, thats all.My true experience with "Crete."

Should mention that my truck has the tripod(?) type of spot mirrors and the mirror sticks out past the fender about an inch.

..just a thought, they say a picture is worth a thousand words & in this case a small digital camera would have come in handy to document this incident, for safety or whoever u report truck damage to there, if you report it.. kinda helps your case if they ask for more information.. :Tow truck:

only time the QC is turned on is when there are 2 ppl in the truck.
if the trainer is solo it gets turned back off while moving :)
