###### boy......I installed my new radio in my new truck and boy that thing gets out and receives better than I thought atleast 2-5 miles and it's a bone stock Galaxy 949.
I mounted the Wilson 2000 in the middle stake pocket on the driver's side (pick up) using the top two bolts. I have an swr of 1-1.5 on channels 1, 20, and 40.
Better than I expected!

two very nice peices of equipment that should do you well for a long time . im sure you already know a proper tune and alignment will get even more performance out of it .
-
I'm sure a nice peak and tune would do a better job but I'm happy with this set up. I can truly say it was worth the $200 to get that radio!
I wired the hot wire to the ignition and I have no interference at all what so ever! -
Actually I think it gets out closer to 10 miles now!
I'm pretty dang impressed!

Hey buddy, just make sure that there is a fuse in that line. Seen a lot of bad fires when someone went with out protection. glad to hear your raididio is doing a great job. Always nice to get your money's worth.
Baack Thanks this. -
The hot wire is running to the ignition fuse not the ignition itself.

Hmm I get out 10 miles with a stock Uniden 510 and a tuned Lil Will. Reports are that it comes in loud and clear.
-
the conditions around us always controll how far we can talk . we can increase the distance with more signal output but conditions and terrain will determin how effective our signal is . what may take only 1 watt to talk to one day may take 100 watts the next day .
the thing is............to be happy with what you got and that usually means talking to folks you can hear .panhandlepat Thanks this. -
I'm happy with my set up!

Yup, Always Use protection, no one wants to have those unwanted effects of NOT using protection..
