I won't be doing anymore odd hour deliveries either. For this to work somewhat smoothly, I figured out that I have to pretty much stay in the same 14 hour range every day. If I start drifting off then I start running into the 14 hour limit at bad times.
You might want to try out the dashlink unit Friday in case you have problems and need to call support, Monday will probably be super busy for them.

Well guess what bro??? I ended up playing around on the website and set my choice to AOBRD and the app kept prompting me to plug in dash link... So much for "Plugging in Friday".... I plugged in. Kicks in fast when you start moving!!!! Ive had so many company drivers talk about 10mpg, or 15mph, or not starting til you go a few miles! That part sucks! I tried to unplug, but now the app won't allow me to select the drive line;-( This thing is going to be crazy, and I'm sure it will back fire.

If you want to unplug, you have to log into your online account and go the user object. You can then disable the dashlink and go back to using it manually. It kicks in at 3 mph which is the federal standard for those things strarting on monday. I'm plugging mine back in tomorrow and getting ready for Monday deadline day.

A lot of guys who have been running ELD's for awhile are going to be shocked when their software updates on Sunday midnight and puts the 3 mph kick on requirement in place.

I know lots of guys who's companies have a 3 mile drive radius before the elog kicks in. No more.

I got hooked up with Keep Trucking as AOBRD today. It is still below 5mph before motion is detected. They said that by the end of the month they will make 3 different speed options available; 5 mph, 10 mph, 15 mph, that's it. Big deal. I really hoped for 30 mph. Leveled playing field. Remember?

Guess you forgot the ruling that said if you are using an aobrd by x date you can continue to use them another 2 years.

If it is still too slow, I was thinking about unplugging the darn thing while moving in a parking area searching for a spot then plug it back in when the spot is found. If it won't do any good I'll just use PC.
