The short Heavier Blond gal got there right after it happened, in fact they thought she was the one in the car. I can't remember which one was there in the AM before it happened.

Ahh yeah, shes one of the nicer ones there. Bucktooth is not one of my faves. I did my route backwards this Turkey Day, went from I80 west towards I15 in Utah via Kemmerer and US / UT 30. Kinda sucked not having a bathroom open from Lil America all the way to the Bear Lake lookout rest stop. Uff!

I worked as a full time Paramedic for 15 years in a VERY busy EMS system. I quit counting fatals I worked at 100.
I quit because I was burned out.

I was headed down to Dallas a couple of months ago and happened to come up on a line of traffic that was being routed down an access road around an accident. It was obvious what had happened from the chatter on the CB.

I found myself getting more and more anxious, the closer I got. After I passed the wreck, I had to stop the truck on the side for about a half hour before I could continue. I thought I was done with all that.....

well 12 wyoming there is nothing you can really do to get rid of flash backs. ive had my fare share and the only thing you can really do is reflect on it when you get one. there are many terrible things in the world and we can only hope to make the world a better place.

may the lord bless you and keep you.

[this is a good topic, my brother who is in the Military was in a traffic jam today in Richmond, VA due to a fatal truck driver accident. be careful out there lets try to keep truckers at the top. Delaying the public is a big loss of cash epically when government officials are involved. please be careful out there and remember youre loved ones could be riding next you any of your blind spots.]

12, I've been meaning to ask this on the boards here, but since I noticed you are from Kemmerer, you might know. Do you (or anyone else for that matter) what they are doing just south of Little America? Right across the interstate and about 1/2 mile from the exit is a huge crane and there are a bunch of...segments to something that they've had out there for a month. I saw a ton of trucks bringing pieces in over a couple of days and now I noticed they are lowering them into the ground...not sure what its for. Ideas?

They were working a wind farm the last time I was thru there (july)

Well hmm, I guess I havent seen anything like that out there. The only wind farm that I can think of are those over by Fort Bridger at the 3 Sisters.

This is different and its bugging me since I can't figure out what it is lol. The crane is a larger one....has two big booms of the same size...spread out in a V shape...connected by cabling.

The trucks were hauling in some big ol hunks of metal...they could only fit I think one on each trailer. Looked like it hinged on one end...sort of if you look at your hand when you make a "c' with your thumb and index finger...hinged on one end, open on the other.

argh! lol...Ill have to try and take the camera with me tomorrow and swipe a pic if I remember.

    Geothermal stuff?

They must have taken out the towers then, because some where out thru there (I was thinking near Little America) they had some towers already started. Wasn't as far west as the sisters
This was a new field they were working.

Stop at the Little America shop and ask the mechanics. They might know.

I dunno if I should feel lucky or... not.

I've described the incidents in other threads here...

Motorcyle (Crotchrocket) grabbing air on a bridge and the driver coming down in two parts

Gasoline tanker vs red sports car (passenger survived in the car, driver of car... did not)

Some years ago, there was a big pile-up on I-76 in Denver. My wife had just got off work (EMT-B) and was heading home when she rolled up on the mess. SHe called it in, and proceeded to triage. Most of it was not a problem, but there was one young man who had "injuries incompatible with sustaining life". In other words, he was dead, just hadn't stopped yet.

It wouldn't have been a problem but a nurse had pulled up also, and was in hysterics because my wife black-flagged the guy and moved on. As a result of that "Nurse", my wife spent about 6 months in counseling.

One of my first jobs out of high school was driving an ambulance (NOT paramedic - I drove. Period). Rural service, so we saw a lot of.. interesting little boo-boos. The accident that caused me to quit was 12 of my classmates in a pickup truck, doing about 120mph around a curve when they left the highway - and hit a line of trees. Nobody was wearing a seatbelt, and nobody remained in the truck. They kept us on scene for 6 hours.. and I shook like a leaf the entire time. Took me almost 20 years before I could talk about that night.

I've had varying degrees of involvement with other messy scenes - though to date, I've been fortunate enough to not be a participant
