Guns??? Concealed carry?

I want to try some long range shooting.

All I do is shoot clays, not that that’s a bad thing... the gun club I go to has 5 different sporting clay courses.

 

To consider long range, using 900 yards as a example... there was a Sharpshooter who targeted President Lincoln in one of the forward defensive forts near DC itself during the civil war. The range from Sharpshooter to him was 900 yards.

The round reached close to Lincoln and actually took out a secretary standing 6 feet from Lincoln. WHUMP!.

You really cannot get that much closer in accuracy at 900 yards in those days with what was availible to the sharpshooters then.

The reason I don't do 1000 yards is because a life time on the road with old iron has turned me into what is known as old shaky. My hands vibrate something terrible some days. Nothing to do with manhood, ego or any of that. It's the muscles and nerves that are shot in the hands and wrists. I can still shoot and hit much closer than that though and that's plenty for me. Ive learned to hit the bowling alley and throw three games on those days old shaky is in the house. That ball clears it out of there.

 

Its a very expensive hobby, The glass better cost more than the rest of the entire rifle and lets not forget, your children need to eat, so you're hand loading all your rounds.

 

Ask your doc if Primadone will work for you(didn't grab her bottle to check spelling). My wifes hands used to shake so bad someday she could barely hold stuff. One day at our doc(he is really a pharmacologist) he noticed her hands shaking really bad. He looks at her and asks if he want to give her something for it. My said sure but nobody has been able to fix it yet, but sure go for it. He tells her that was one of the last drugs he was a designer/scientist on. She takes the first pill and the shaking left within 30 minutes. She just calls them her shaky pills now.

 

What shuts 'em up in a hurry, though, is when you with your "cheap" gun out-shoots their high-dollar selection.

 

Do that all the time with my neighbor. My $100 dollar Mossberg 500AT outperforms his high dollar brand new Benilli semi-auto all the time. And my Mossy was bought used. Best deal,I ever got!

 

I shoot with an 870 with a short barrel. Loudest gun there lol.

Where I go it isn’t really like that. Most the crowd is pretty young.

It was 200 dollars from a friend.
