Congratulations on letting us know what we should have already known: That O/O can order a new truck with a 13,200lb axle. W9 is most often a O/O spec truck not fleet spec. Fleets buy the cheapest possible.

Most highway trucks are indeed with the 12,000/12,500 front axle and 275/80r22.5 G-rated tires.

I drove a highway Crapcadia with a 15,000lb front axle and the tires to match. Doesn't make it common. Infact, it was so uncommon I got pulled into scales often to check the tire size and door tag.

I am sorry to bother you with new information. I thought this was a forum where we learned new things from others experiences. I will leave you alone with your information. I guess I should just stick with what I learned in the 80's and not learn anything new or maybe not.

Another tip for a tanker tanker,,, as you pull up to the scale jam the brakes a couple of times, get that load sloshing.
