Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
No, you get a MINIMUM of 34 hours off every week as do all OTR drivers, per DOT requirements. You'll learn about the 4 clocks in school (70, 14, 11, & 8). Your weekend time-off varies as to when you get home and when you leave to make your Monday delivery. Weekends off does not mean home Friday afternoon and leaving Monday morning like a normal job. Welcome to trucking. There is a lot more to it than you think.
To make money as a flatbed driver, you need to make 5 deliveries a week. That means your Friday load is your Monday delivery. When you need to leave on Sunday/Monday will depend on how far away it is from home and what time the load must be delivered.
If your looking for normal working hours with plenty of free time on the weekends and during the week, than OTR driving is not for you.

Last time I checked, in the ELD world, all OTR drivers get a minimum of 34 hours off. That's a weekend in my book. -
Highway Sailor and Blackshack46 Thank this.

RussianBearTruckeR Thanks this.

That may be after 5 days or maybe 8. It all depends on when you take your 34.

We don't deliver on weekends, so yes, so to speak, we have our weekends off. At home instead of at a truck stop or somewhere else. It depends on your point of view.
The guy was inquiring about weekends off and is unfamiliar with the regs that we deal with. I clarified what we MEAN by weekends off by TMC standards. Nothing hidden just the truth. -
Highway Sailor Thanks this.
