MountainMama, my husband as told he had to have 80K to bonus! That he would bonus at 6 months!! Not surprising that our information is different.
RC Wife, I am a little jealous! haha I live in Alpharetta, why can't my trucker get a load here! Although he seems to hit your area quite often. -

When we went to the terminal in Chatt. on Monday, we asked several questions at the payroll department because we wanted to make sure we had the right information. One of the questions we asked was, "When do they pay the .01 safety bonus?" I asked that because I see on Redcoat's pay statements that they keep track of how much the safety bonus is based on his miles. Now I could be wrong but the way I understood it from the man we talked to was that the bonus doesn't count for the miles driven with a trainer and that even though it appears on the statements, it doesn't actually start until the trainee's first dispatch driving as a regular team. Then the safety bonus is paid quarterly and that the driver should get it roughly two weeks after each quarter ends.
The second question was, "When is the sign-on bonus paid?" And that one you all pretty much have right. They *say* it's paid after team driving for six months. But there's that little detail of the 80K miles that must also be met. As long as the truck has gone 80K miles, then you get the bonus at the end of six months. If you've been doing a lot of sitting and haven't hit that 80K mark at the end of six months, then you don't get it until you've gone 80K miles wether it takes several more weeks or months.
Then Redcoat had the nerve to ask the man if his two months of training counted toward months of experience which wouldn't have been a bad question if he hadn't elaborated and said he needed to know in case he decided to go to another company.
Doh! I almost went through the floor.
Anyway, I'm putzing around in the forum while I'm sitting here with my mom. She's getting her second chemo session and when we are finished here, she's going to go back to Birmingham with me and stay with me for a week. Maybe she'll like living in a motor home and will be willing to go to Arizona with me..... (wishful thinking)
Y'all take it easy and MountainMama be sure to let us all know if your son actually does get the bonus sign-on bonus since he's so close.MountainMama and xr7conv Thank this. -
Has RC made it to Ohio yet?

I called payroll last Monday and they told me I had accumulatet 92 thousand miles until last month and that my teaming ended last month too. What a wonderful surprise!!
Can't wait to put my hands on the $$$ I have been running solo since last Monday. Did 5 locals in Calif (I detest that traffic)
and now going to KY (nice solo run, I love it!
Going to Chatt to get few days off and get in the solo division. However, was told that they are putting a "freeze"on solos until January... (I don't know what da heck that means, but I don't like it). Can't stand any more partners... -
I often wondered how well it works out assigning someone a new best friend. I will be doing team driving, but with my own brother.

Hey Rocks glad to hear you've made it to the end. You've got to let us know how long it takes you to get the $$$.
Redcoat is in Ohio now. They lost the California run because they sat for 13 hours at the shipper in Chicago waiting to get loaded. Now they're at a Wal-Mart near Columbus waiting to get UNloaded. The have another run scheduled but it's a short one and not the good one to Cali. and I can't remember off the top of my head where it's going.
Will let you all know when I talk to him next.
