I have had lights disappear off the rear of the trailer while parked, some think it is easier to walk to a truck nearby and help themselves, it may be cheaper for a short time until you get caught, some people have no mercy anymore. On the ones who do that I hope they are not company drivers who get reimbursed for those expenses, then the fuel stealers with a electric fuel pump ,them idiots will be tied to the front bumper for a ride.

    driverdriver and Hurst Thank this.

I'd not hesitate to replace all that stuff.

Keep the old belts for spares.

You should be good with new hoses for a few years.

It's penny's to do it as a plan, opposed to being at a someone's mercy.

Look at your washer in your house, it says to replace them hoses every couple of years, and that is with just water running in them, on a truck you have heat, chemicals and everything else to deal with.

IMG_6363.JPG As mentioned by @driverdriver Turn or flex the belt and look for cracks on the inside. Sometimes cracks are noticeable without touching the belt. I carry a spare waterpump & alternator belt.

Do you know how to check and see if it's indeed the belt squeaking?

If you have one hose that is bad, replace them all.

If you have more than one belt, replace them all.

If you can't handle it, then get a mechanic to do the work.

OH and to add to this, replace the tensioner when the belts are off.

AND if you are replacing the tensioner, then replace the belts.

I always threw on a set of belts every other year. One less thing to worry about on the road.

Do it yourself at home, that way you know how to do it if you need to do it on the side of the road. Keep the old as spares.

If it's a serpentine belt,it should be big enough to slide over the fan. Google belt replacement for the motor you have. There's probably a diagram and instructions on the web somewhere.

The fan comes off with 6 small bolts. Put anti sieze compound on them so they dont break next time.

Just gotta work it around the fan blades. I've only come across like 1 truck in my career that I needed to remove the fan to replace the belts.
