I know. But by 2030 it is usually packed, and then some.
As it was I didn't have enough time to check out the Loves. When I left Dollar General I had only 5 minutes left on my 14, so I went to the Walmart.
Very few trucks here right now, but a couple have come in since I got here 15 minutes ago. -
Jurupa valley for a change.
DPF filters decided it's had enough of running up and down 15. Didn't derate but it did send about 5 codes my way. They are finally figuring out what to do with it.
Good excuse to get the Jerry rigged headlight fixed and get it turned up.
5 minutes to go, your giving me a road itch. There is some sick decrepid part of me that loved it. -
Got a loaner truck. Told me they wouldn't have DPF till Friday.
Got one of the single bunk midroofs. No cabinets it's shortened. Don't need a headache rack since my trailer has a headboard.
I find it cosey. One bonus is the in cab 5th wheel release. Not that it'll do me much good. I'll get to use that once.
Next week I'm only going to be moving 2 loads. God bless union labor. -
In cab 5th wheel release? I can beat that. I was picking up at Kohl's in Grain Valley, MO a few weeks ago and saw a guy sliding his tandems. So beink the nice goblin that I am, I went to go release the handle for him. Nope! I heard the pins pop back into place, so I walk up to the truck. He has this nice setup where he can unlock his tandem slide from the cab.
Brentwood, TN down for a week for Yule with parental units. Mmmm bourbon. -
So as I was pulling in to the TA near home this morning, I caught an unexpected sight. There is a reason why I'm paranoid about checking my fifth wheel when the truck has been out of my sight for a few minutes AND during pre-trip
FerrissWheel and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
It has to suck when you pull out and your trailer doesn't come with.
I'm in Cheyenne, WY on a nice 1600 (200 more with mt) miler to West Sacramento, CA.
Under 20k, which is also nice.
The pplan had me delivering on Christmas, but after finding out the actual window I pushed it out to the morning of the 26th.
I had no desire to get stuck on Christmas afternoon with no load out in that area.
It is snowing here, but it should clear up by morning. It seems I am sliding through the bad weather just fine, and it should be fine weather to CA. -
So mom got to taste my cooking for the first time.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all y'all who claim to be Christians,
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all y'all who claim to be of another faith
and HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND to all of us who are none of the above.
FrankFerrissWheel, Moosetek13, MysticHZ and 4 others Thank this. -
So I was sitting in Cheyenne, WY because of high winds and slick roads yesterday.
My load is very light, so I wasn't about to brave 50+ gusts in those conditions.
Then two things happened at the same time.
A blizzard warning was issued for an area just west of Laramie, and the winds died down just a little. This happened at around 1430.
The blizzard warning was from 0400 to 2300 today.
If I got stuck behind that storm I might be stuck for another 2 days.
I headed out to get ahead of that upcoming storm, and I stopped in Rawlins. The wind was still hitting 45 and the roads were still bad, so I shut down as it was getting dark.
There were 2 trucks in the ditch along the way, so I'm glad I decided to sit that long.
I checked the WY DOT website tonight.
Conditions were pretty bad in that area, yet I still saw some trucks in the pictures.
That stretch of highway was closed to high profile and light vehicles, but they still went through.
I'm wondering how many of them had a very bad day.FerrissWheel Thanks this.
