I went to that site that explains the train wreck from the railroads perspective, but still that train went into that curve with way to much speed with a experienced driver, are we depending to much on computers to do everything for us and this is a warning as to what is coming with self driving cars, trucks, trains and planes?
Prenetable or Not?

It's the truck driver's fault. He failed to come to a complete stop with his four ways on at a railroad crossing.
Snailexpress and Alaska76 Thank this. -
I hate when those people say "you never swerve!" No, you never hit cars with people in it. I'm sorry you has all those troubles, but in the long run, you made the right choice!

I guess he had plenty of warning so they're seeing if he was destracted.

Hate it all you want, but if something smaller than me challenges my right to occupy the travel lane, I'll do what I can to shave speed to lessen the impact, but the point of impact will be in my lane. I'm not putting my truck in the ditch avoiding some ####### who couldn't pay attention or keep their car on their side of the road. If I end up in the ditch after the impact, so be it...but they'll be wrecked there, too.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Make sure you have a good dash cam, swerving will only place the blame on you, if you swerve off the road and hit nothing and are laying on your side they are going to charge you with a rollover, if you swerve into the next lane and take out another car that is a failure to maintain lane and the poor sap that got hit really did not deserve it, try to lessen the impact as much as possible but also maintain control of your vehicle because more happens after that first impact that can be controlled.
tech10171968 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
By the way that train crash got rid of a child predator so it was not all bad.

That’s karma at work.

Maybe Roy Moore got confused when he bought a ticket to Washington.mjd4277 Thanks this.

I used to be a worker's comp adjuster, and I handled the claims for a large mail hauler in California. One of them was a guy who hit an attempted suicide by truck. I read his psychological reports, and followed his progress over 2 years. What I saw there was consistent with everything that I have read regarding drivers who have been involved in fatal accidents. The consensus of what I've seen is you'd rather get killed avoiding an accident than stay your lane, and kill someone, especially an innocent victim of the opposing driver's stupidity.
