i don't have any info on them but a friend told me they are a decent comapny to go with. so today i at least sent an inquirey to them. since i don't have a family to support and do have a little income anyway, i am more interested in a company that will treat me right and will put me to work even tho i've been retired from doing anything for the last 6 years. i call it an extended vaction

I know of one driver that worked for them for 2 years. Had the normal dispatcher problems in the beginning but once he got past the first 6 months and they saw he was going to stay then the majority of the load problems vanished. He has since left them but didn't have negative comments about them. He was running 48 states - no NYC.

I worked for KLLM for over 4 years. The midwest region is a tough area. That's why they pay more in that region than their other regions. The office staff is ok, not great. The repair shop is good, nice people. If you like the Chicago and Detroit areas to work in, you'll do fine. They will get you out of the region upon occation and you'll think you're OTR but they do get you back to midwest, eventually. All dispatch comes out of Jackson, MS office. All info from this thread comes from talking to the midwest region drivers when I saw them there.

I've been with KLLM since the second week of Oct of this year. I have no unusual complaints about them. Any problems I've come across thusfar they have been quick to resolve. I've made some pretty decent money. I'd say I'm averaging a bring home of around $700/wk. I had a couple of bad weeks right before Thanksgiving, but it's not the company's fault that a mechanical piece of equipment breaks. I've got an '04 Century that has just under 400,000 miles on it and the turbo went out. Also not the company's fault that the Freightliner dealer in Sacramento didn't have the part in stock, or that when the part came in, the mechanic who was supposed to work on it didn't for whatever reason. These are problems that just happen in this line of work. Through all of this chaos, KLLM paid for my hotel room and paid me for being broke down. Mind you, it wasn't nearly as much as I would've made if I'd have been running, but at least it was enough to feed me and put a lil in the bank. I look at this company the same as I look at every company I've ever worked for. I just try to do my job, get the load there on time and safely and do whatever is asked of me that isn't completely unreasonable. They're not without their problems, but they honestly do seem to care about their drivers. Anyone with a level head on their shoulders and a passion for being a truck driver can make it work here. I don't know anything about the midwest regional stuff as I'm OTR 48 state.
