want to talk to drivers about roehl

As a long-time resident of New York you should all know it's no longer "New York State". Please begin to refer to NY by it's proper name "The Socialist Republic of New York".

Here's a little tidbit of info about NY. The SRNY (Socialist Republic of New York) spends more in Medicaid than does Cal., Texas or Florida - combined. Each of those states is larger in population than the SRNY. If you're poor and in ill health come on over. And of course there's no waiting period for eligibility.

I'm an old experience trucker living in Dutchess County NY trying to get back into trucking after OTR in the late 70's early 80's. Got my CDL-A last month and can't seem to find a job not requiring at least 3 months recent experience. I guess my ovr 500,000 miles means jack now days! Hopefully Swift will take me in Syracuse,NY for orientation. Applied all over for weeks now and only 2 bites! I WANT TO GO TO WORK!

Birdeye, I have 20 years recent CDL B. I've been driving propane for all those years. I thought maybe someone would give me a shot with those years. Nope, so, I need to get more trasining before I can look into local driving job. And most want 1 year.

 

I hear that! I drove swinging beef OTR as well as gas/fuel oil tanker local back then and it means nothing today! Have to start all over again but it's hard finding someone to take me! Old experience to them is OLD!

 

Bird, Im 51. So I'm no spring chicken. Im in pretty good shape. I also bring a lot to the table do to my age. I think thats a major plus.

 

Mee too! I'm 52 and lost a 100K a year job back in March!

Does Greyhound go to Marshfield? That might be an option if you can deal with the bus.

 

I hear ya Chev! I'm here in Dutchess too and am trying to get in Swifts Syracuse,NY orientation as well as Roehl. I filled out Roehl's App online today as I have been dealing with Swift about 2 weeks now and can't find a slot for me! Thanks for the welcome and hopefully we'll get this done and drive,leaving our familys just to survive this rat economy!
