    Look at the Landline article in earlier post, plz.. that article dated the day tax bill passed; the above article was the 19th BEFORE it was passed...

    Company drivers may get cut, but O/O's can still claim on Sch C..

    I really think we will be ok.. from the looks of it it carved out the Transportation industry and we can all still claim our per diem.. look at the article in Landline magazine... it was written after passage of the bill

    According to my CPA, for what it is worth, I have been with her for years... She stated only the white collar exemptions are going away. We are in a completely different area of the tax code, drivers and O/Ops, there were no changes made to those areas. We stay the same in regards to per diem.

    If our per diem were cut that would anger all of the trade workers that travel. Like millrights,welders,iron workers, electricians, carpenters, and most of these are union jobs. That would be a big mess period.

    And that is what my gal said, white collar is a different area of the tax code. Blue collar is unaffected. The uproar would be YUGE!
