Taking another swing at it

You know when you take a load that you know is already late, but you need a short haul before the holiday? And then you get to the receiver and are told it’s late and you need to reschedule? Then it’s rescheduled for Tuesday next week?
I hate those loads.
This...is one of those loads.

 

I convinced the powers that be that this run was doomed to be late from the start, they said go for it, it’ll be fine.
I says it’s not fine anymore. I says they need to fix it.
I’m running it up to the warehouse to drop for another driver who’s working next week. (Paid miles, since I played the I told you so card)

 

I just looked like an idiot and was awesome at the same time.
Appears it’s freezing out. And it was doing that fine mist thing, and I stepped up the curb and my shoe lost traction on a super thin ice spot, my arms flung around like I had ants in my pants but I managed to regain my footing without falling down.
Ok, the awesome part is an exaggeration

I’ve learned that there was a car/pole accident near my home. The house and our block are without power for at least 3 hours as they need to replace the pole. Why can’t these things happen in daylight hours?

 

It will be a busy week for me, so I’m going to do my well wishing now with a general broad stroke.

I’m packing up to hit the road again tomorrow. I’ll be grabbing some anti gel and calling for a jump start I’m sure. Sat over a week with negative temps, it’s bound to be a long morning
