What do New CDL Stevens school graduates weekly statements look like after deductions

in other words its .40 cents per mile without per diem, you don't want per diem if your near retirement, you need to have higher earnings at the end of year, that way bigger social security check, but if your young take per diem

 

Uhhhh ... its not .30 PLUS per diem. Its .30 including per diem.

 

wow, thanks for the reply, when i started way back in 1992 with u.s. express i believe i started at 32 cents, i finish out with Schneider at .37 in 2004 and that was good money, but with those you tube truckers, company's have no trouble finding drivers, hinse low pay, as long as there's toilet paper at the store no one care's, thanks again, merry xmas

 

just seen a you tube video from, (skimp dee) video, release today dec 18, she works at stevens, she mention 3 people in a trainers truck, ARE YOU KIDDING ME, i thought just crazy cr england did that

 

Thats not right. Company policy is no more than 2 people in the truck at any time period. I call BS on that.

Pay is somewhere in the low .30cpm I believe at .32cpm. Out of that .10cpm does not get taxed for per diem(which you do not have to do) well that will probably change in 2018 since it looks like the government is doing away with per diem all together. if you run 400 - 500 a day you rarely have to stop for a reset which will allow you to run 2800 - 3500 miles a week. Now that will vary on the loads and season. Teams can run more but usually run around 5000 miles a week but if they have a good DM and work the system you can get up to 7000 but that won't be consistent due to resets. Trainers usually max out around 4500 dues to having to shutdown 8 hrs a day. Now this was what I saw over the years. I did leave Stevens in August so things may have changed but probably not much. There is money to be made but you need to learn the system and work it to your advantage.

 

thanks, if your young per diem would be good, but not if your near retirement, the more taxes taken out the bigger your social security will be, your correct no more per diem, but your personal deduction will double to make up for that, that should happen in 2019, but you will have more money in your check come february 20 or 30 bucks more, tax bracket changed

 

Per Diem is still there. It didnt get taken out by the new tax law.
