That is the Funniest thing I have heard in a while "force some outlaw drivers into retirement and reduce the number of crashes" NOT
Did anybody get inspected for ELD yet?

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

But aren't they above-the-law?

Do you actually deny there are some outlaw drivers operating?
If so, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a very long time. -
You gotta understand, there are people who actually believe everything the government says. If the government says everyone will be too tired to safely drive at X amount of hours, then anyone who drives one minute past is obviously a hazard to the public and going to cause a crash any second. Because everyone's body clock works exactly the same.
This industry has been dumbed down so bad now that those of us with a little common sense are no longer allowed to use it.barnmonkey, sawmill, 7-UP and 21 others Thank this. -
You are spot on. Just look around the truck stops, or read some of the posts on here. Dumbed down is an Understatement..BoostedTeg, onetime42, Justrucking2 and 2 others Thank this.

Do you actually believe that those "outlaws" are a safety problem?jamespmack, 7-UP, Teivel VP and 4 others Thank this.

Do you believe those who watch videos or text and drive are a safety problem?
I can guarantee you there are just as many driving 90 hours/week as there are those who drive totally distracted for long durations of time. And plenty who do both. Only question is what are you willing to tolerate and consider acceptable?
Furthermore. Who do you think takes all the cheap broker freight and otherwise feeds cheap rates? It's the solo trucks running 4500-5500 miles/week, pushing their physical limits. So at least there may be a bright side to an enforced eLog mandateLast edited: Dec 24, 2017
Moving Forward Thanks this. -
I would tolerate an older experienced driver that has little regard for being told that he can or cannot drive far more than a younger "I can't deliver this load on time because it will put me over on my 11 by half an hour, and I need at least 2 hours to find parking everyday" driver.

This is by far one of the best comments describing what has happened to this industry over the last 2 decades.jamespmack, DOGSLIFE, superhill56 and 5 others Thank this.

Common sense and critical thinking skills, if we could only bottle it.
