A Trucker’s Plea

The only time I ever saw people drive correctly was after 9-11 had hit our Country. The following three weeks after that terrible day revealed a perfect textbook driving with not even a hard brake application or a wild steering wheel input on our truck. We remember that time well because they were doing it out of fear.

If the Nation could do the same thing again and stick to it, things would be much better. But trying to get a herd of 90 mph late workers to slow to 55 in the Jax construction is blowing in the wind, you will only die tired once your air runs out.

That is where you the professional comes in, keep your eyes high and examine the developing situation before you get to it. Not everyone is going to see the sunset today, but you can do small things to help them stay around with us all a little bit longer possible.

Couldn't agree more...also the idiots who fly through parking lots...i have 0 tolerance for that crap too and won't hesistate to report them to co's and could care less if they lose their job either...it's time to clean this industry up...

 

I was walking out to the truck a few weeks ago at the mom and pop truck stop in Ottawa Lake MI... Here comes this local driver, in his day cab flying through the fuel island. He darn near got me. I walked up to his door and waited, then commenced to chewing his ###. He didn't care, didn't even give me a glance and walked away. Steering wheel holder, to many of them out here. And with these ELDs, it is getting worse, now they have an excuse to be idiots.

 

and here is where i got a reaming, from others.

i drop a dime as well. especially while driving, and i see behavior that does not belong out on those roads.

i have been told to MYOB, but i cannot. i must drop a dime. otherwise, with things being what they are, the feds, citizens rights groups and other self righteous groups will do it for us.

as a result, we only have ourselves to blame, for not policing ourselves.

 

I've reported several to co's before...gotten postive responses from vast majority of them..i won't hesitate...i started reporting a trainer from system transport because she was flying into the flying j Lodi ca and nearly hit me...i told her that driving like that is unacceptable and training someone to drive like that won't be tolerated...after chewing her behind out she apologized...i told her won't hesitate to report you and make sure you're gone...i said im tired of drivers like you operating like this.

 

I have called quite a few times over this past year. I have no problem doing that, my family and friends are out here too.
