Changed oil Friday and it was the second to last time I take plug out, next 15K she is getting a shut off valve on oil pan to make life easier as well.
ShooterK2 and Justrucking2 Thank this. -
Love mine... But still take it to the truck stop for the oil change... I did the math, Rotella and FleetGuard filters are still cheaper at the TA and getting rid of all of that used oil is a real PIA. Oh, they allow me in the bay, I have been going there for years, so there is a relationship there.
ShooterK2 Thanks this. -
I have an isx in my w900 after rebuild in june I know mine took 18 gallons of red coolant.
ShooterK2 Thanks this. -
I recommend you bringing in to get the coolant changed this time around. Pull a sample from it and then let them deal with the mess that it will become.
If the same returns something wrong, then the coolant will have to be changed again when the repairs are done.
My old neighbor would bring his Michigan train home and do an oil change and coolant change right in the street, the ***hole would not clean a thing up and leave it for the rain to wash down into the ditch.Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
Just changed my coolant out about 2 weeks ago.
I have bottom of a 55 gallon plastic drum I marked to just fit under radiator. I Have several.
Cut it off, took a 2" hole saw and drilled out the ends of "handles" and cut top and bottom w/saws-all.
Just unclamp bottom hose and woosh.

Yes, get a coolant sample test.
And yes, heard of the fuel pump trashing the engine like a ticking time bomb.
CHANGE/REBUILD IT NOW. -
Thanks for the replies. I definitely want to take care of this truck. I just bought it from a 70 yr guy who was retiring so I’m the second driver. He claimed to have changed the oil every 15,000 miles. Said “anything longer than that made him uncomfortable.” The inside and out is real nice and he serviced the def too.
I’m not familiar with the red coolant to say if it’s truly dirty or not but I do want to get it flushed and a sample.
Being an old school machanic and not sure about all this high tech stuff and really don’t want to F anything up like I’ve (probably most) done many times before LoL
Is the fuel pump a simple machnical repair?Attached Files:

you tube/Google is your friend
Super nice slick ride, by the way.
Heard pump is less than 500 bucks, but it good insurance just to get that old one out.
If they fly apart, (And take the entire motor out with them,) like I'm hearing, I personally would change it out soon as possible. Mark the mileage, and get rid of these bad juju pumps
before they can do a "Gotcha" on that beautiful truck. -
We have some of those but we drive in dirt with rocks. That be a pretty expensive road call when a rock flips up and busts one of them out.

Don't worry about fuel pump. 2015 has new style pump don't need to update just check tappets and plungers. $200-300 job to sleep good.
don't just change coolant, repair engine. I have 600K on my engine and coolant is clean.rolls canardly and Justrucking2 Thank this.
