Our fleet is mostly CAT powered, mostly the 6nz. Haven't had any issues getting parts yet. Our local Cat house claims they have everything in stock to build a 6nz from the ground up. We did, however, have two Detroit's that we had some issues getting parts for

Good deal, I do not own a Cat, just going by what trusted folks tell me.rbrtwbstr Thanks this.

My 07 T600 is darn solid for having 1,260,000 miles. Usually, if something is rattling or squeaking, it's because of something isn't put away correctly.
Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
Are the T660s or T680s similarly solid in design/construction?

What years are good for solid Volvos?
-
I would look at a 2006 or older. Cummins CM-870, N-14 or Series 60 Detroit.
-
For this question, yes.
I know where to go for solid trucks ... they just aren't aero trucks. I am hoping to learn what aero trucks hold together or are reasonably rebuildable as needed so as to aid with mpg.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I think they (The T600 and T660) are very close, if not identical in their design and construction. I haven't spent much time in a T660, aside from checking a couple out. As for the T680, I have even less time checking those out, but from what I did see and what I was told by a friend who drove one for awhile, they are pretty solid, although the design and layout is quite different from the previous models. Very nice interior and the sleeper layout has more room than the standard 72" Aerocab of the T600/660.

As someone mentioned earlier, the T600/660 are identical to the W900 from the firewall back and all are solidly built, based upon my experience with my T600.x1Heavy and Justrucking2 Thank this.
