Exactly. I could probably pick 5 random threads on the first page of "New Posts" and see at least 1 "ELD should have prevented X" comment in those threads.

Oh come on now, I dont think anyone is trying to be the first to make jokes about ELD's.... we all know that FMCSA was the first to make a joke about it.

Let's try the glass is half empty approach.
Maybe they were utilizing the only safe parking available for the time?
    Lol

Actually it drains the knowledge from the members who then have to leave.. he he he.

This post by the OP is borderline trolling, accidents can happen at any time to any reason out there. And if they wish to see a thread fill up about a truck in the ditch bordering on the famous right turn thread, so be it.

Not a bad idea. Import the 8x8 trucks so that we can get into any old hole and park. After all no one wants to fall into one. Getting out should be easy. Presto parking and all that solved.

This was a test question dating to a radio program in the mid 30's given to a smart kid.

"If a hole is two feet by three and one foot deep, how much dirt is in it?"

Answer: None, it's a hole you described.

Clearly HOS is insufficient. We should all be running 24 driver teams with each driver only allowed on duty for an hour each day. Better the world should starve than any truck ever be involved in any accident.

Personally I have no problem with HOS. It protects me from employers. No, I can't and won't drive 20 hours in a day.

Yes, I see the HOS and e logs as protection, not a limitation.

Give it some time and elogs will weed out most the cupcakes,
Right now they’re complaining about a box forcing them to drive,
So we know before elogs they had a dispatcher forcing them to drive when they were too tired.
Or they grabbed that high paying load and ran all night even though they were dead tired just to make a little extra money.

The cupcakes can’t stand up for themselves and elogs will do it for them.
Plus once they get used to a 10 hour break then they should be able to work a 14 hour shift without a nap,
