Phenix Trans West Shut Down?

I am not aware of that. Many trucking companies have switched over from paper to ELD seamlessly. In my opinion, it almost sounds like an excuse to keep doing what the company has been doing until they are forced onto Eld.
You have painted a picture of an improving company. However, you did not address some of the more egregious issues raised in this thread.
What about the issue of 1099 or W-2 that one driver raised?
What about the owner withholding pay depending on a run being finished even if it is illegal?
Good news I guess that you are offering a signing bonus. But if drivers can't be assured they'll actually receive the pay from the company they're supposed to receive, signing bonus is just an offer.

 

I drove for Phenix when this topic was started. All of the statements about the illegal, HOS violating demands are TRUE. I was given a 2200 mile load to run in TWO days. I called dispatch from the yard and was told to "do my best". I was at the bottom of the hill past Flagstaff sleeping when I got the call wanting to know why I wasn't in SF. When I told them I did my best, Richard, the owner's son screamed at me saying it wasn't good enough..lol
I drove for 3 months there and nicely told them pound sand..
They treat drivers like third class citizens, they are not even allowed to use the bathroom in the front, only the nasty one in the shop..
