Well Roadmedic, It looks like I'm out of luck there. As I was only employed for 6 months. Gotta work 12 months to be eligible for the leave thing. So I guess I'll try other avenues.
    Thanks

    Hi Mrs. T & Everyone,
I have came upon a new treatment that will help me substantially. It's called IPT. Insulin Potentiate Therapy. The doctor gives the patient Insulin before the Chemo, and that puts the blood sugar down to about 30. The patient is constantly monitored by the doctor and staff, when the sugar gets that low, then they give a smaller amount of chemo than what I've been getting here. The cancer cells thrive on sugar, so when the chemo comes to the cancer cells, they think, okay, its mealtime and gobble it all up. The good cells of the body are unharmed. The cancer cells are fooled into taking the chemo and are killed off... Cool huh.. Less or no side effects... That will be great. Thing is, I have to get funding for this. I think I will be going to Phoenix, Az. for the treatment. I have a friend who I think will let me stay for the 2 or more months to get this great new treatment. It has 100% success rates. But the FDA refuses to recognize it.. Once again our good old government won't let anyone find a cure for Cancer... Cancer costs Americans and their insurances about $350,000 with all of the Chemos, surgeries, and radiation. And most of the time the patients die anyway, plus they have to go through pure hell while going through all of these treatments. So why should I stand by and die and leave my family owing what my insurance doesn't pay, plus a funeral bill... Do any of you know that 75% of American doctors will not take Chemo??? On the 4 types I've been getting, in the paperwork my doctor gave me on each one, it says "In event of an overdose, call poison control center... So basically it is poison. If 75% of doctors would refuse Chemo, then they know it is poison.. It has been 8 days since my last treatment, and I have been one sick puppy. This is the first day that I have felt half way human. Driver friends, I also have to change my diet. Since almost everything has sugar in it, and cancer cells love sugar and it makes them stronger, I am now off of all sugar. No sodas, no coffee with sugar. And none of those sugar substitutes either. Cancer likes that stuff too. I can no longer eat regular or wheat breads. (Infact no wheat products). It has to be rye bread if I eat any. Corn has lots of sugar in it (it is natural sugar). Guys, and gals, I've learned lots of things since getting this disease. I've researched online every chance I get. You all should do that too to prevent getting cancer. Our diet is the main thing that is causing alot of our cancer... That is a fact. Plus we don't get enough vitamins we need from our diet.
I'll quit preaching at everyone. Just wanted to let you guys/gals know, I'm still hanging in there. I just have to get up enough funds to get into the treatment place I need to be and get the right type of treatment. If anyone knows any rich folks that would like to help out let me know... ha ha..
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. AND DRIVE SAFE OUT THERE.

    Hi all,
I am doing okay. I am trying to get into a new type of treatment called IPT. It is where the doctor gives the patient Insulin before the chemo. It seems to keep the chemo from killing the good cells in the body, and the patient feels better. Right now, I am trying to get funding going to go to Phoenix. The chemo I get now is really making me sick, and I don't like being sick. I don't know anyone that does. Thanks Mrs.T for asking about me. And thanks everyone else too. Anyone know a rich company that would like to donate some bucks to help a poor broke driver to get treatment? And it's tax deductible.. Have a great Christmas everyone.:biggrin_25519:

Thanks Dewfrogg, it must be difficult to write about feeling sick when feeling sick, if you see what I mean.
But folks here appreciate you telling us your news, so thanks!

Can you get medication to stop the nausea? There are some pretty good ones out there, (the hospital where I work uses odansetron, but there are plenty more.)
Then again, feeling sick stops you doing anything, and sometimes thats good, if you are someone who doesn't like resting, (and 'Im guessing you are!) then its your body's only way of getting you to rest and conserve your energy!

I guess what I'm trying to say is to stay positive. Difficult when you feel so sick, but it will pass, just save your strength and let your fiance (and a good lawyer!) fight the other battles. You just concentrate on getting well!

I'm new here but being a cancer surviver I feel some of what your going through. Don't give up because it can be beaten, I did four years ago. I had testicular cancer and like an idiot I wouldn't go to the doctor even when I knew something was wrong. I waited so long that it spread to one of my lungs and a small spot on my brain, maybe thats why I'm not all here today? Hmmm? Main thing is keep fighting! I will keep you in our prayers DewFrogg

Hi Everyone, Sorry for not getting on here in a while. I just got my 3rd Chemo round and it has been doing a number on me. Had the stinky burps yesterday, and now it's coming out both ends. So I have to stay close to the bathroom!! I am looking into getting an alternative chemo with insulin, but my oncologist will hear nothing of the sort. He's one of those that doesn't think outside the box. I have a website with my email, but I can't put it on here and can't give out my email on here either. So I'm kind of at a loss at getting many donations towards the new alternative. Guess it might take some time before I can get enough to get it. Anyway, the trucking company that booted me while I was in the hospital is Transam. Just encase anyone would like to know. Those people there don't care about their drivers at all. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

You hang in there and keep fighting, it can be beaten. Have you considered Cancer Centers of America? I've heard really good stuff about them from other survivors. Only bad thing is I think the closet one is in Ok. I ended up going to Longview Cancer Center and they were extremely nice and showed they really cared. I had to switch oncologist when I went to them and ended up seeing a doctor called Dr. Couch. She was really nice and always asked about my family and really seemed to care. Don't let your oncologist hold you back. If he or she can't give you a good reason for not trying the treatment you might want to consider trying another doctor. I'll keep you in our prayers.
