What he said. Your boss isn't putting loads on your truck for peanuts. If anything, your pay should be going up. The market is hopping.

 

Seriously. 1099 pay right now is 60 cpm and W2 pay is at least 50 cpm. If you're getting less than that you'd better be 100% drop and hook with all you can eat miles. Rates are VERY high right now. They won't stay high with people like you working for less than you should be.

 

Yes, you can do it parttime. It will be tough, but if you want it bad enough you can do it. All of the loads that you have been picking up for the past 20 years and the places where you deliver are potential customers.
You may make several hundred calls before you get a warm reply, not business, just a warm reply. You have to stay at it. Look at the free youtube videos and call small brokers and see if you can get on with one of them.

 

What do you use to creata podcasts, like is there an app or what?

 

I've read this post and seen the comments and i couldn't disagree more. I've taken training and i think it was an excellent investment. How many people that are bashing the idea of training, actually received any to voice an opinion or share a solid reason for doing so?
