Yes I have heard of guys on carhauler chain trucks split decking and then bending the frame when raising or lowering with the chains tight. I guess it would suck to order a cab and chassis and the box not sit on it because the frame was bent.

The frames on the Isuzu's aren't nearly as strong as a Ram 3500. You go to torquing them and they will bend.

I usually run the chain threw the spring mount and pull down just enough to pull the slack out of the chain. Figure they can reweld the spring hangers a lot cheaper than totaling out a truck for a bent frame.

I'm curious how many guys have pulled one off the side while torquing on one side without at least a snug chain on the opposite side? Have you heard of this happening??

With a deck that 102" wide if the Isuzu is centered there is 2-3 foot on either side. The M sites Isuzu is one of the smallest truck we haul. The F series Isuzu is as wide as the deck and doesn't take much to drive off the side. You have to be centered when loading it.

I was actually referring to pulling it off that dolly setup that I know Unimark uses (I helped my brother load a few times when he was there) when chaining down.

The saddle has ears that catch under the frame. Would have to get real carried away to pull one over. You'd bend the frame way before pulling one over.

That's what I was actually getting at. @Banker mentioned the one that was totalled and I was thinking maybe that's what happened. Over zealous chaining!!

Oh yeah. The Isuzu aren't hard to bend with an over zealous driver getting carried away with a binder.

Wouldn't bother. A lot have changed over at Wheeler and not for the better. A year ago, I couldn't praised them enough and now....not so much. Top notch equipments though.
